Cool New Shutterfly Product: Yearbooks

Shutterfly has come out with a new, cool product: Yearbooks!  What a great way to treasure all those special memories created during the school year.  This product would be great for public schools, small private schools, or pre-schools centers to take advantage of.   It's easy to use and has some great options for page layouts, backgrounds, fun titles, and embellishments with bright colors to add variety to your pages.  Of course, this is not only a product for schools, but also for the parent at home that might want to do a personal yearbook about their child with the photos they have from the school year.  Or better yet, you could put together a yearbook for a teacher gift at the end of the school year.  How unique would that be for a teacher to receive something so special.
I'm sure, like me, you still flip through your yearbooks searching for familiar faces that you can't remember their name.  Yearbooks definitely bring back lots of memories, that's for sure!!  And are something your kids can look through someday and laugh.

I've always been pleased with the final product I get from Shutterfly and enjoy looking at our books over and over again.  So, take a look at their new product,  photo yearbooks  by clicking on the link, and see what a fun new product it is.

You can follow Shutterfly through these different social networks:

***I was contacted by Shutterfly to write about this new product on my blog in exchange for a free product from them.  The opinions expressed in this post are my own.  I was not required to give a favorable review of their product.

Gift Basket Tip

Wondering what to do with all those cute baby wipe containers?  I've been saving mine for a while...obviously since my daughter is 3 now.  I just ripped off the top of the container and saved the bottoms to use for gift baskets for baby showers.  They work perfectly!!  And look so cute.  So if you still have little ones in diapers, next time pick a cute container to save for a later time to use as a gift basket.  You'll feel so frugal. :)

Spring Cleaning Contests

Right now there is one Spring Cleaning contest currently going on and one beginning next week.  I am definitely participating in attempt to get my house in order before this little boy arrives at the beginning of May.  There are some great prizes as incentives to go along with these contests to make cleaning that much more fun.

Simple Mom's contest is already in it's second week.  This week's project was pantry and the refrigerator.  You can still complete these tasks and link up on Friday and Saturday on her blog for a chance to win this week's prize.  Click here to read about her contest.  Click here to read about week 2.

Next week on March 20th you can begin to link up any spring cleaning projects you have done for a chance to win a new washer and dryer set, closet organizer set or steam mop.  Sounds like pretty good incentives to me for getting my house clean!!  So join in the fun and get your house clean while trying to win some great products.   You can read about all that is going on here on the I Dream of Clean blog.

New Soup Recipe with leftover Ham and My Favorite Salsa Recipe

Taste of Home's Ham n Chickpea Soup

This soup is awesome!  We tried this soup tonight from Taste of Home and it's a definitely a keeper.  It tastes like a gourmet soup you'd get at a restaurant.  If you have leftover ham to use up, consider trying this soup recipe.  Soooo delicious!  It makes a great alternative to split pea and ham soup. Click here to get this wonderful recipe.

When I get fresh ingredients in the summer, I cannot wait to make this awesome salsa recipe.  It is absolutely my favorite and gets rave reviews whenever I take it to parties.

Salsa Recipe from Mrs. Merriott
3 1/2 C (28 oz can) crushed tomatoes
1 finely chopped onion
1 tsp. salt
1 finely chopped large garlic clove (2T)
3/4 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. dried cilantro/parsley (i used fresh cilantro)
1/2 C (4 oz.) diced green chilies
Add diced green peppers
Add Jalapeno pepper (2 tsp. minced) or chili powder or hot sauce

Mix and serve. [ I use fresh tomatoes, cut the tomatoes, green peppers and onions up small and make sure that they all look about even in the bowl as far as quantity.  (If you have more of something it should be tomatoes.)]  LOVE this recipe!!  It's a big hit when we take it to parties.

One of my Favorite Apps

I had to blog about my favorite app for my new Ipad that I got for Christmas. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this application.  It is called Paprika.  This app organizes all my recipes and allows me to download recipes right into it from my favorite recipe sites.  It also has a menu planner and grocery list too.  I've been busy adding all my recipes into to so that I can go paperless and not have all my cooking magazines and recipe box on my kitchen counter top.  Plus it is so easy to find my recipes now since I can create my own categories.  The only draw back to this app is that you have to buy it for each device if you want to have it on your Ipod, Ipad Iphone or Mac computer.  If you are in need of a recipe organizer and menu planner, take a look at Paprika by clicking on this link.
