Growing up so fast!

Merry Christmas

Our little girl is growing up so fast before our eyes. She just started sitting on her own yesterday. It is amazing how they can go from one day still falling over to sitting on their own the next day. We have also started squash and green beans. She seems to like her food and is a great eater. Her little personality is becoming more and more apparent. It has been cute to see how excited she gets when daddy comes home. If after she has seen daddy and he goes into another room where she can't see him, she starts making loud noises until daddy comes back into the room where she is.
We are having so much fun. She is such a joy!!

Thanksgiving

This year we went to my parent's house from Tuesday until Sunday. For Thanksgiving Day, we went to my mom's side of the family. Earlier in the month we celebrated with Tom's family since his sister and her family were leaving the states before the actual holiday. We had a wonderful time with our families and have so much to be thankful for.

She had her first rice cereal on Thanksgiving morning and Friday morning she rolled over all by herself!

5 Months and fall pictures

I am finally getting around to putting up B's 5 months photos. Tom and I took some pictures outside with all the beautiful fall colors back when we had the warmer weather. B. currently weighs 15 lbs. 4 oz. and is 26 1/4 inches long. She is a pretty happy girl and she is getting better at her naps and night time sleeping. We just lay her down in the crib and she's able to put herself to sleep....so nice! She still hates her tummy time, but is tolerating it more and more. She's been talking more and laughing more too. Her new trick is putting her toes in her mouth.

Clickfree External Hard Drive Giveaway

Over at Mommies with Cents, an external hard drive is being given away to one lucky winner. I was pretty excited about this giveaway since Tom has been talking about getting one of these since we had our last computer hard drive crash. It was devastating to loose everything in one day. I lost things I couldn't get back...like a note containing all the information my grandma had given me about certain pictures and stories she told me before she passed away. That was heartbreaking to me. With this kind of a device, we can back up everything and not have to worry about it crashing along with the computer. So make sure to go and enter!!!

Trick or Treat

Tonight we put on the bunny costume and headed to the mall for trick or treating. Well actually...B. just sat in the stroller and we walked around the mall looking at all the cute kiddies dressed up. We went to Barnes and Noble where I was able to get a free cappuccino with my coupon I printed off the internet and then headed to story time with Captain Jack Sparrow. Story time ended up being really short, so we missed it. But we did score a bag of candy for showing up! Everyone thought B. was quite adorable in her bunny costume.

4 month well baby doctor visit

Well, we had our well-visit today for 4 months. Somehow our appointments got a little "behind" since B. will actually be 5 months old this coming Sunday, but I'm not sure how that happened. Anyway, here are her stats: Weight 14 lbs. 10 oz.--50th percentile and Length 25 3/4 in.--80th percentile. Of course, she did have to have shots today. They are always dreaded and she has had a rough night. Shots aside, we did have a good visit and B. is doing pretty well. The doctor did detect a small heart murmur that we will keep an eye on. He said on a scale of 1 to 6 her's is a grade 1 or 2. Her head circumference measured in at the 25th percentile, which is something else the doctor wants to continue to monitor but not something of great concern.
She is learning new tricks every day. Her latest trick is smacking her lips. So cute!!
We'll make sure to keep you updated on how are little girl is doing. She is so precious and we thank God for her every day. Here are some current pictures of her.

Hey look at my shoes!! I can't keep my eyes off of
these things on my feet.

U of M football Game

As many of you may know, Amanda and I are U of M football fans. These past few years being grad school we have not had the opportunity to make it to any games. During this past week through a unique set of circumstances I was able to get a pair of tickets to the game this Saturday at the Bighouse. But not just any set of tickets, front row seats!! After the big comeback last week we hope to be able to witness a good game as Michigan attempts to turn the corner on another rough start season. Whatever the outcome we are very excited to be able to go a game there for the first time in years.
B., being too young to be a fan of anything but eating and sleeping will be hanging out at my parent's house during the game.

Busy..Busy...Busy

Life has been flying by especially with having majority of my time consumed by a little one!! Since I posted last we have had so much going on. We went to Tom's cousin's wedding (August 15th),
Oleg's party for U.S. citizenship (August 16th),

stayed with friends (August 22-24th)

and then came the first round of B's shots. Oh...shots are not fun. It took her awhile to get back to herself. I'd say probably around a week or so. And then we ended the month of August with getting some photos done. Those I'll be putting up later.

September hasn't been quite as busy, but we did have a funeral to attend. My grandfather passed away Sept. 8th. We believe that he made a profession of faith before he died and that gives us hope. After the funeral, we had a family dinner at my aunt's house and I was able to catch up with many of my cousins that I have not seen in many years.

Summer Vacation

Amazingly enough, Tom has started his clinicals and our summer break is over. It was so awesome to have those 4 weeks of just being together as a family and doing whatever our little hearts desired. We did a lot of traveling this summer even with a little one in tote.

1. My parent's house--4 hrs round trip and we did that twice
2. Taste of Chicago and Tom's parents house--13 hrs. round trip
3. Tom's parents house-- about 12 hrs. round trip

So, I'd say that we have done our share of driving around this summer and B. really hasn't slowed us down much at all.
Another one of our adventures included a night of camping with B. We only went for a night b/c we wanted to see if we could do it. It was actually quite successful!! B. is such a great baby. She loved looking around in the tent since our tent is red, black and white.

Ready to go camping

Bunny Slippers

The most scenic diaper change place ever!!!

Tom's first day at clinicals was great!! He is really looking forward to working [for free :)] at this clinic. He's already learned so much just in his first day. I'm so glad to hear that. You never know what kind of place you'll end up at and whether it will be beneficial or not.
I'm starting up piano lessons again here soon. This will be interesting juggling lessons around caring for B. Life is going well and we are really enjoying being a family of three.
