When I get fresh ingredients in the summer, I cannot wait to make this awesome salsa recipe. It is absolutely my favorite and gets rave reviews whenever I take it to parties.
Salsa Recipe from Mrs. Merriott
3 1/2 C (28 oz can) crushed tomatoes
1 finely chopped onion
1 tsp. salt
1 finely chopped large garlic clove (2T)
3/4 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. dried cilantro/parsley (i used fresh cilantro)
1/2 C (4 oz.) diced green chilies
Add diced green peppers
Add Jalapeno pepper (2 tsp. minced) or chili powder or hot sauce
Mix and serve. [ I use fresh tomatoes, cut the tomatoes, green peppers and onions up small and make sure that they all look about even in the bowl as far as quantity. (If you have more of something it should be tomatoes.)] LOVE this recipe!! It's a big hit when we take it to parties.
