This was a few weeks back when B. was eaten up by bugs. She had 4 bites on her back, some on her legs and arms. She had one that was on her eye lid which swelled quite a bit. Poor kid....who is your mommy? I'd like to have a talk with her about remembering to put bug spray on you!
In our house, our kids are known as "keepers," the ones God allowed us to keep after enduring five miscarriages.

Happy 8th Anniversary to us!
On June 25-27, we went to the east side of the state and explored St. Clair and Port Huron. It was a nice little getaway. Tom did pretty well walking around considering his ACL was gone. On Friday we checked in at the St. Clair Inn in St. Clair, MI, and then we headed to an upscale restaurant right on the water called the River Crab. So fun!!
In the morning we headed to Tim Hortons for breakfast and then walked around at the local art fair that was going on. Then we packed up and headed to Port Huron.
We ate lunch on Saturday at another really cool place called The Raven.
It was a great little getaway and so nice to be able to do this before Tom's surgery on his knee.

Tom's surgery and An Evening Out
A few weeks ago, Tom decided to play basketball with the guys after evening church. He came home with some good news and bad news. The good news...he didn't hurt. The bad news...he was sure that he had probably torn his ACL in his knee.
On July 6th, Tom had surgery for his knee. He is doing really well and our follow up appointment is on Thursday. Tom will be recovering for 6-8 weeks. So, keep him in your prayers as he works to get back to full strength.
Tonight after dinner, we grabbed a culver's treat and headed to the park downtown. We put out our blanket and listened to some great music in the park. They passed out free popcorn and I gladly took them up on their offer. B. seems to like popcorn too....Yes! (victory for mom...Tom doesn't eat popcorn). B. did great sitting on the blanket, coloring in her book and playing with stickers. She made sure to clap at the end of each piece of music. The weather was beautiful and it was good to get out of the house.

B. Turns 2-June 2, 2010
B's 2nd birthday party went great. We had a few friends and family come to a local park for her party. Of course, we had to have a word world party. B. calls it "duck-duck" because duck is her favorite character. I worked hard making her cake and it turned out pretty well. She received a lot of great gifts and has thoroughly enjoyed playing with them. My little girl is growing up so fast. She has been talking in sentences for quite a while now and it is so fun to hear her talking like such a big kid. She loves to jump and run, give "big hugs" and kisses (if you're lucky). She's a pretty good girl for the most part, but does have her dramatic temper tantrums....she throws herself on the ground and cries, sometimes with a loud "no." Every stage is such fun and we are enjoying every minute that God gives us with our precious little girl.

Day Trip
I have been so bad at blogging lately. It seems like so much has happened and I'm really behind in getting the events of our family up online. Hopefully....I'll be able to get caught up and stay caught up.
This summer we've been able to go to our church's summer group get-togethers for kids. This particular trip we met together at a park to ride a local trolley that goes throughout our neighborhood. B. had a blast and since it was the day before she turned two...she was free. So, I think it cost a $1.50 for both of us to ride. Afterwards, we had a picnic lunch, played on the playground and then went to a local ice cream shop and had a slurpie. What a great day out!
